How do I conjugate the Spanish passive voice? Can I conjugate the passive
voice in any tense other than the present?
The two most common ways to conjugate the Spanish passive tense are: the passive se (se publicó el libro) and the passive with ser (el libro fue publicado). Below you will find the passive voice conjugated in third person indicative:
When using the passive ser, keep in mind that the participle must agree in number and gender with the subject of ser. Also, there exists a passive continuous form of ser (estar siendo publicado / está publicandose, etc.), but it is not very common. Further more in the passive voice, 'estar' corrpesonds to perfect of ser:
Translate the following sentences, writing in the form: ser passive / passive se. Although capitalization does not count, spelling and order of the answer does! Assume that gender is masculine.
